COMET: Your Ticket to the Stars!
Calling all cosmic adventurers! Become a vital part of our event’s mission by joining our crew, and you’ll be eligible for our brand new COMET program (COmunity MErit Ticket). As a volunteer, you’ll earn more than just good vibes: you’ll secure your reserved ticket for next year (we heard it was even better)! Skip the ticket sale and enjoy the certainty of a place at the heart of the action. By volunteering, you’ll not only make our event out-of-this-world, but you’ll secure your place in our community. Stars shine just fine on their own, but to make a Constellation, you need to make a connection.

Volunteers are needed for so many departments as the days to the burn dwindle. Please see the Signup page and take at least one shift. Don’t miss your chance to secure your spot! Volunteer now and let COMET guide you to next year’s adventure!

There are several ways to get reserved tickets under this program, but the most common will be through volunteer shifts. If, during 2024, you complete at least:

  • 6 hours of volunteer shifts between 8am and 10pm or
  • 4 hours of volunteer shifts between 10pm and 8am the next morning

and record those hours at the Information Support Station (ISS) after your shift we’ll guarantee you have the opportunity to purchase a ticket at list price to Constellation Burn 2025.

Shifts that take place before or after the Burn (e.g. DPW and City Planning) also count for COMET.

Reserve tickets do not accumulate – if you earn 2025 reserve tickets through several means, you’ll only get the reserve tickets from the category that gives you the most.

Who Can Earn a Reserve Ticket for CB 2025:

  1. Shift Volunteers – Those who sign up for vital roles during the event. To be eligible, you must log six (6) hours for shifts that take place between 8am and 10pm or four (4) hours during shifts that take place between 10pm and 8am the next morning. Simply go to the Information Support Station (ISS, formerly Volunteer HQ) at the end of your shift to sign in and get your hours logged, and we’ll do the rest!
  2. Fire Effigy Perimeter Volunteers automatically receive full credit for a reserve ticket for their contributions during this important event.
  3. Certain other positions are able to be given extra credit toward a reserve ticket based on the burn’s needs. This year, we are giving a guaranteed 4 hours for temple perimeter and guaranteed 2 hours fire conclave safeties.
  4. Artists – Specifically, creators who receive art grants*, and art that qualifies for official placement or that brings exceptional value to the burn, as decided by the art grant committee. One ticket is granted per art placement, but a second ticket reservation may be requested for group art projects.
*This does not “stack” with the tickets that come with art grants or other burn programs.
  5. Stellar Volunteers – Superstar volunteers who go above and beyond, awarded by the event leadership.
  6. Production Team – The coordinators and leaders behind the scenes. Due to the many hours of time these volunteers put into making the event run, they are awarded two (2) tickets instead of one. Interested in joining our far-out crew? Reach out at volunteers@constellationburn.org with any questions!

How to claim your credit:

Simply go to the Information Support Station (ISS) at the end of your shift and talk to one of our volunteers. After ISS hours, a clipboard will be placed there for you to log them, or you can return the next day while the ISS is crewed.

No reserve tickets for 2024 will be issued through the COMET program.
